Product Overview
Deep spice, berry, and chocolate flavors gush from this beautiful natural-processed coffee from the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperarive Union (SCFCU) in the Sidama Province of Ethiopia. The luscious fruity aroma comes from the natural (unwashed) drying process used in processing this coffee cherry. The complex combination of wild berries, bananas, and vanilla blend together with a smoky base that goes down easy.

5 Detail & Comparison
Posted by Crane on 8th Apr 2024
I wanted to write some more detailed comparison reviews to aid those, like me, still looking for their perfect coffee. PREFACE: This is only my personal opinion of Ethiopia Sidama Natural as compared to other flavors. Firstly, let me first say that this is my favorite so far of all the coffee's I have tried among Sweetwater or elsewhere. Although that list is not large, it is growing. That said, this one stands out as a true favorite for me. It's strong, and the flavors described are perfectly accurate. The berry smell is immediately recognizable when you open the bag. The aromatics and taste of berry overtones are prominent, even in a milk-drink. Note that for some that are looking for a more subtle milk drink, that may be undesirable. Black Dog Espresso is a great example of a powerful coffee that blends very subtly with milk for a smoother flavor and less dramatic overtones than Ethiopia Sidama Natural. However, if you are looking for a good depth of flavor that cuts through in all cases and like the berry taste, this will be a favorite for you as it has been for me. My wife, on the other hand does not prefer this flavor as much because the acidity of the fruit notes is too noticeable for her at all times. In terms of darkness, I would argue this is much closer to a 3/5 or even a 2/5 leaning on the lighter side. Surprisingly, for someone that prefers darker coffee, this has not proven to be a point of contention for me, and I recommend this flavor still, even if you are worried about that and prefer darker coffee. The lighter, more acidic tinge is there in a straight espresso shot with this coffee but does not remain in a milk drink. In general, this continues to be one of my all-time favorite coffees, and I can't recommend this enough.

It's very hard to find this variety of Ethiopian, let alone ORGANIC and freshly roasted. Hats off to Sweetwater for offering this. 10/10 would recommend.
