Tina Adkins is the prime mover, shaker, and manager extraordinaire of Sweetwater. Over her long and storied tenure she has done just about every job and task you could imagine. In that time one thing has remained consistent-- Tina is the heart of our roastery and our customers love her.
We asked Tina a few questions to help folks get to know her better. We hope you enjoy the exchange!
Sweetwater: What is your role at Sweetwater?
Tina Adkins: Location and Customer Service Manager and longtime coffee drinker!
SW: What is your best coffee memory during your time at Sweetwater?
TA: Oh so many! Definitely my first trip to Guatemala. Mind-blowing experience and touches the very center of your heart. and I feel like the funniest memory is chasing the Sweet Brewnette coffee truck down the road because it was super cool! In my mind, it was like the ice cream truck of Coffee!
SW: How did you discover coffee?
TA: When my daughter worked at Sweetwater and I would come pickup my grandson. The rest is history!
SW: What do you do when you are not slinging coffee at SW?
TA: Spending time with any of my 6 grandchildren and traveling the countryside with Larry (he is our head roaster at Sweetwater)!
SW: If you were stranded on a desert island with one coffee and one song, what coffee would you want to have and what song would you listen to when you drink it?
TA: Toss up between Brown Sugar and Peru French. Two Tickets To Paradise by Eddie Money!!
SW: Anything else you want our community to know about you?
TA: I think it is super important to get to know your coffee. The farmers, where and how it is sourced, how we buy our coffee. Once you have been to origin, see first hand the process, it will touch your heart way down to the very core bean. It is an experience you will never forget and you will know the true love of coffee.
Thanks to Tina for taking time out of her busy day to answer our questions.
